You Are Deerly Loved

Hello there!

Today I am sharing a shadow box featuring a winter scene.

Here is how I’ve created…

  1. The box was assembled with two pieces of white card stock.
  2. The background was stenciled with Distress Oxide inks. Stamp the Modern Trees and dot the snow with a white jelly pen on the background.
  3. The birch trees and snowdrifts were die cut from white paper.
  4. The deers were die cut from gold sparkle card stock.
  5. The tiny hearts were die cut from red card stock.
  6. All the pieces were layer up with double sided tapes.

It’s my first attempt to create a shadow box and it took me hours to finish it. Although it’s a little tricky, but I have an idea to create anothet one for the upcoming Chinese New Year!

Let it Snow!

Hello there!

Since we have a cold wave here, I decide to create a card with winter scene.

  1. Trim watercolor paper to 4.25″ x 5.5″ as the front panel.
  2. Die cut a snow drift from mask paper and adhere to the front panel.
  3. Blend Broken China Distress Oxide ink and dot the snow with a white gel pen on the un-masked portion. Stamp the sentiment with black ink.
  4. Peel off the mask paper and apply some embossing paste as a snow drift and air dried.
  5. Die cut the birch trees from white card stock. Stamp & die cut the deers.
  6. Adhere the images to the front panel.

  1. The penguin was colored with Copic markers and was die cut.
  2. The snowdrifts were die cut from white card stock.
  3. All the pieces were layered on blue A2 card base with foam tapes and double dided tapes.

Warm Wishes For A Happy Holiday

Hello there!

Today I am sharing a holiday card with hot chocolate in mugs.

  1. Happy Festive Background was stamped with VersaMark on Kraft card stock, heat dried and was cut with Wonky Stitched Rectangle die.
  2. The mugs, cotton candy and snowflakes were die cut from white card stock.
  3. Oxide Distress inks were applied with blending tools for the mugs & hot chocolate.
  4. All the elements were layered on A2 card base with foam tapes.

I love how the background stamped with VersaMark on Kraft card stock turned out. Hope you love it, too.

Sending a Snowfall of Blessings Your Way

Hello there!

Today I am sharing a X’mas card that was inspired by Time Out Challenge – Home Sweet Home Photo Challenge.

When my girls were 2 & 3, we created some snowflakes which were made from Arclyc paint & white glue. When the snowflakes were air dried, we stuck them on the window glass as window stickers.

I tried to recreate the scene I’ve rememberd!

  1. The window frame was die cut from white card stock. 
  2. The snowflakes were stamped with white Pigment ink on acetate sheet as the window glass.
  3. The wooggrain background was stamped on Kraft card stock.
  4. The window opening space was die cut from the Kraft card stock mentioned above.
  5. Snowfall was die cut from Summer Spalash card stock as the scene outside the window.
  6. All the pieces were layered on A2 card base.

CAS Colours & Sketches #253

Hello, crafty friends!

I am so honored that I will join the awesome Design Team at CAS Colours & Sketches in January 2018.

This week at CC&S, we invite you to choose a sketch from all the ones in 2017 (past sketches in 2017) and make it seasonal for the upcoming holiday season.

I used the sketch #235 in August which was the very first sketch challenge I took at CC&S.

Here is the X’mas card I’ve created with the sketch.

  1. A piece of mask paper was used for creating a partial circular space on blue card stock.
  2. The snowfall background was stenciled with White Pigment ink.
  3. The birch trees were die cut from white card stock & were adhered with foam tapes & double sided tapes on the stenciled space.
  4. The bird house was die cut from Kraft card stock which was stamped with wood plank background in Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink.
  5. A string was tied and adhered on the back of the bird house.
  6. The bird house was hang on the birch tree.
  7. The Robins were colored with Copic markers and were die cut.
  8. A scallop circle frame was adhered to frame the scene.

Are You YETI for Christmas?

Hello there!

Today I am sharing a X’mas card with a yeti wearing Christmas lights.

  1. Mask paper was trimmed into A2 size and was applied on A2 card base for creating a rectangle space.
  2. The yeti was stamped in the center of the rectangle space and was colored with Copic markers.
  3. Another piece of mask paper was cut with the matching die of the yeti, then was applied on the yeti.
  4. The radiating rays were stenciled with Distress Oxide inks: picked raspberry, twisted citron and salty ocean.
  5. peel off the mask paper and stamp the sentiment under the yeti.
