Happy Birthday to You

Hello there!

Today I am sharing a birthday card following the sketch from Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch.

Here is how I’ve used the sketch…

  1. Create a top-fold A2 card base.
  2. Trim three blocks from Summer Splash card stock & Party patterned papers. Adhere them to the card base to fit the sketch.
  3. Stamp the sentiment with black ink on the top block and stamp the banner with Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink on the bottom.
  4. Stamp and color the cupcake with Copic markers, then cut it fussily.
  5. Decorate the cupcake with glossy accent & Nuvo Crystal drops.
  6. Adhere the cupcake to the front panel with foam tapes.

Happy Pink Birthday!

Hello there!

I’ve been lazy for a few days due to a cold wave in Taiwan. When I saw the sketch from My Favorite Things, I had an idea to create a flop birthday card for a lucky girl.

Here is how I used the sketch…

  1. Create a side-fold A2 card base with Bubble Gum card stock.
  2. Position flop card die (one of my new goodies) on A2 card base and die cut. Score a valley fold along the line that die provides.
  3. Die cut square panel from watercolor paper and blend Distress Worm Lipstick Oxide Ink with mini cloud stencil.
  4. Stamp, die cut and color images with Copic markers.
  5. Mat square panel with the card base and adhere to card front.
  6. Layer and adhere the images.
  7. Repeat steps 3, 4, 5 and 6 with a rectangle die to create the interior scene. Stamp sentiment on the rectangle panel with black ink.

Less is More Colour Challenge #362 Purples

Hello there!

It’s been a great honor to be a guest designer at Less is More. This week, we invited you to join the colour challenge at Less is More.

Today, I am sharing a birthday card for the very first guest designer’s post and also for my little girl, Amanda.

She is so skinny but very energetic. She loves reading and taking part in all kinds of activities. She is a well-behaved girl and also has a sense of humor. For me, she is just like a super girl.

Since color of the year 2018 is Ultra Violet , I created a birthday card with the color.

  1. Masking paper was applied on A2 card base for stenciling the background.
  2. The sun ray was stenciled with wilted violet Distress Oxide ink.
  3. The sentiment was stamped with black ink at the bottom of the stenciled sun ray.
  4. The super girl was colored with Copic markers and was die cut.
  5. The first letter of Amanda, A, was die cut from yellow card stock and was adhered on the costume.
  6. The super girl was adhered with foam tapes over the stenciled background.

Thank you for spending some time with me! Thank you Less is More for offering me this amazing opportunity to be a guest here!

I hope you can head on over to the Less is More blog to enter the challenge and to see more inspiration from the awesome Design Team.

    Wishing You a Wild Birthday

    Hello there!

Have I mentioned that my hubby started writing birthday cards to his students this summer?

My hubby put  cards on the desks of the students on their birthdays. When they stepped into the classroom, took the card out of the envelope and read the words, most of them cried with tears.

Sending love and comfort is the most important reason I make cards.

After finishing forty holiday cards, it’s time to be back with birthday cards.

    1. The pony and the alligator were colored with Copic markers and were die cut.
    2. White card stock was trimmed into 4″ x 5.25″as front panel.
    3. Two circles were die cut partially at the corners from the front panel.
    4. Distress Oxide inks were applied on A2 card base for the opening round space.
    5. All the pieces were layered on A2 card base with double sided tapes and foam tapes to fit the sketch.

    Happy Birthday Centerpieces Inlaid Card

I stenciled several balloons with Ranger Distress Oxide Inks on white card stock. It was cut with the biggest one of Wonky Stitched Rectangle Stax as a panel.

I  put Happy Birthday Centerpieces on the center of the panel, ran it through Sizzix Big Shot, and stuck all the pieces on GLAD Press’n Seal.

I died cut Happy Birthday Centerpieces from another card stocks three times and layered them in the open panel spaces. On the top, I glued the stenciled balloon pieces that was cut first.

It took me hours to finish this inlaid card, but I really enjoyed the process.
